Happy Birthday My Dear Blog ! I installed you 2 months ago, and I started writing regularly (1 post a day on average, which is a good start) exactly a month ago.
In terms of traffic, you received a good response as a baby blog, I guess (any feedback would be great !!). Since mid-january, a month and a half ago, 2,000 people came to read what you had to show, and browsed almost 4,000 of your pages ! Well, I won’t lie to you, my dear blog: as I write this post, I see 1,995 uniques and 3,797 pageviews. People stay a few minutes reading your posts, and browse almost 2 pages on average !
You receive almost all your traffic through search engines, about 80%. On some keywords, you’re doing quite good: you’re 3rd in “Primaries for Dummies“, you’re 2nd when investigating the schism in Islam (behind the NY Times !), you’re 2nd on “Tumblr Templates“, you’re 6th on “difference between Mac vs PC“, …
This is quite flattering for you, as you’re less than two months old !
However, my lovely K2 themed blog, I have a dilema today. You could take the route of a personal blog where I rant about everything and the rest. This is pretty much the case right now, as I blog about politics, geo-politics, the web, religion, my travels, and other unimportant things.
Or you could take a specific direction in relation to my interests, amongst the ones above, and that might be geo-politics and religion (one of my mains areas of interest - and knowledge). Maybe if I did this, you would attract more traffic, as instead of being a general-personal blog, you would be a specific source for analysis.
Well, we’ll see, but any feedback would be good. What I’ll start to do, as I’ve been willing to do that for a while, is to write a few press-reviews a week and see what response they get !
