A CNN Cafferty file commenter about China's Olympics:
"The Olympics boycott is useless. If you want to boycott China, and hurt China's economy, stay out of WalMart"

This is pure racism! I am disappointed at those ppl who so called themselves educated ppl, like Jack cafferty! Piece of shit

  2. 2 Laurent Kretz

This is not racism, it’s a reaction to the way China handled the Tibet protests …

unfortunately, both in the US and here in canada, our politicians have manoevered us into a situation whereby a boycott of chinese made goods is impractical; it’s a stretch that we should expect chinese goods to meet our safety regulation. a boycott of any retailer is doomed to failure, and expecting our athletes to fall on the sword of our moral indignation is unfair; they are NOT responsible for rewarding the gangsters in beijing with the olympic games. the IOC did that! it is the IOC that should be punished. the best option for punishing the IOC is financially! the IOC has licensed the rights for the beijing olympics. find out who the sponsors are and boycott them specifically! when you want a mcdonald’s hamburger, have a wendy’s instead; when you’re buying a new tv, don’t buy the samsung, pay a little extra and buy the sony…..etc. make the IOC answer to the companies that they enlisted to underwrite the beijing olympics…..and don’t just boycott them once; resolve to boycott the sponsors for four years; until the taint of these olympics can be forgotten.

China handled Tibetans exactly like Jews handled Palestinians. Don’t use double standard. In addition, don’t forget that Chinese saved Jews when they were being slaughtered by Europeans.

….that’s a pretty far stretch! 60+ years to imagine something positive and a tad flawed historically as well (they ’saved’ jews!?! come on!)….but back to the present. is the harvesting organs from falun gong and other prisoners something the chinese picked up from that period of history (WW11) as well, or did they dream that one up all by themselves….

Peter, go back and check history. How many Jews were accepted and saved by Chinese during WW2? You Americans always think you are the center of world. Shame on you. Falun Gong is an evil sect backed and funded by western countries, same is the Dalai Lama. All the reports about harvesting organs are fake and used for political purpose.

    I don’t know; surprise me!

I do know that the Dutch blocked mass deportations of Jews; I know the story of Oskar Shindler, a ‘righteous gentile’ and I even know of Albert Goring, (brother of Herman Goring ) who rescued and aided the escape of many Jews; but I must admit, I wasn’t aware that the Chinese government was so instrumental in saving Jews…..but I did find this online at “The Jewish Advocate” site:

“But the Chinese, I think, have a curious respect for Judaism.”
That respect is still evident centuries after Kaifeng’s Jewish community lost touch with its religious past. Remnants of Judaism still play a part in modern traditions, including the exclusion of pork in food offerings made during ancestral ceremonies. Unfortunately, the Chinese people’s respect for Kaifeng’s Jewish descendents is not necessarily reflected by the national government. In 1953, local Kaifeng representatives sought official recognition by the communist regime, but were denied.
“It is a complicated issue,” said Xu Xin, professor and director of the Institute of Jewish Studies at Nanjing University in China. “If [the Jews of Kaifeng] were recognized as a separate ethnic group, even in small numbers, the government would have to give equal political rights and representation in the [National] People’s Congress.”

Considering this, one might be excused for doubting the veracity of your belief that the Chinese ‘saved’ Jews!

Oh and in your version of history, which warlord was it, Mao Tse Tung or Chiang Kai-shek who took time away from battling the Japanese (who occupied China from 1937 until September of 1945) to save Jews?

Look, you can believe whatever lies you’ve been indoctrinated to believe, but that doesn’t make them the truth; but here is my version of the truth….if it wasn’t for the sacrifice of young American men, the Chinese would be fighting for autonomy from the Japanese just as Tibet is now fighting for autonomy from China; how would you like that? Instead of condemning America and trying to screw America economically, China should be thanking America for the sacrifice it made, at least partially, on China’s behalf; until then, China has NO FACE!!!

And just for the sake of real truth, I am not American or Jewish.

If you are a Canadian, I don’t know why you hate China. Don’t show off here with your little knowledge about China and its history. Mind your own business and leave China alone. How would you think if Chinese support the independance of Quebec? Has Canadian government been crystal clean on its human rights record? Don’t try to teach others how to wipe shit when you self have shit on your bottom.

Cafferty is an idiot. Walmart is an American company, who pays tax to US government, not Chinese government. With Walmart, average Amercians can enjoy low prices for everyday needs. Walmart makes huge profit by exploiting Chinese producers. For this point, it should be boycotted, not only by Americans, but also by Chinese.

  10. 10 peter kashur

agreed,…i believe cafferty is suggesting the same; ‘leave china alone’
… and unfortunately the IOC didn’t ‘leave china alone’ when it should have and thus the controversy.
…china wanted the olympics to ’show off to the world’; well you can’t have it both ways; the world is watching and so far china seems to be losing the public relations war….
…and to try to compare china’s human rights record to canada’s is just plain ignorant; the canadian government doesn’t murder it’s citizens….and on that note, i ‘will leave you alone’; try not to lose face bun gow
